Infrastructure¶
Home / Infrastructure
Internal engineering infrastructure — the development workstations, shared machines, and server-rack hardware the team builds on. This section is the durable reference for what we run and why.
Machine Landscape¶
Three tiers of machines, each for a different job:
- Mac laptops — everyone's daily driver for general work (email, docs, communication, light dev).
- Individual Linux dev servers — each dev has a dedicated Linux workstation (see Developer Workstations) they SSH into for AutoCAM development, GPU simulation, and CAD/ML work. Heavy compute lives here, not on the laptop.
- Shared Windows server — one shared Windows machine (see Shared Windows Debug Machine) for the many Windows-only tools common in engineering design and manufacturing. Accessed over Tailscale via RDP or SSH.
